Tips For Tackling The Dreaded Spring Cleaning

I may sound crazy saying this, but I actually enjoy cleaning! For me it is relaxing, I can take my mind off of everything else in my life for a little while I jam out to some music. Plus the outcome is a clean house and I don’t know about you guys, but when my house is clean and tidy I instantly feel less stressed!

April is just a few days away now which means it is time to get your spring cleaning on! I always feel much more motivated to get things done in the spring because the weather is nice and so I do not want to lay in my nice warm bed all day like I do in the colder months.

I have put together a 30-day spring cleaning challenge printable to help you tackle your chores without seeming to overwhelmed, but first I have a few tips that I hope will help you stay motivated to get the job done!

  1. Open all curtains and windows. Letting light and fresh air in helps to waken you up and energize you.
  2. Blast some tunes! I don’t know about you but turning on some music and jamming out while I am cleaning really helps me to make cleaning more fun and feel like less of a chore. My favorite playlists to listen to while cleaning are early 2000’s R&B, but I also like listening to audiobooks too!
  3. Breathe. I know it can seem daunting, especially if you have been avoiding a particular area for awhile now, but take a few deep breaths, remind yourself it will be okay, that you can do it and then get down to business. I have designed this 30 day challenge more for deep cleaning areas of your home that you might not remember to clean, or that you do not clean as often as you should, but before you begin it is helpful to tidy up any clutter so you do not feel even more overwhelmed.

I have designed this challenge so that you can tackle these items, on your own time, and without feeling overwhelmed, so if you feel like you cannot complete a particular task on a certain day feel free to skip to a different day and go back to complete in when you can! If you are like me and work from home, you may even feel like you can complete several tasks on one day so feel free to group together tasks too and then take a free day!

It is YOUR home so complete it in the way that works best for YOU!

  1. Love the calendar. Those bright and happy colors actually make these tasks seem *almost* Fun 🙂 I’m definitely in need of a paper declutter. Maybe I’ll make a game of it and treat myself to a prize based on how many I can check off the calendar!
